This sequence runs throughout most of the song, and you may want to hammer-on/pull-off between B and Bsus4 when playing the B chord. Then the electrics kick in, one of which plays the Main Riff. The Main Riff also appears at varying points in the song. After the end of the first "chorus" ("...anyone else would do"), the Middle Riff is played; esentially it's just a cropped form of the Solo. After the second verse/chorus type thing comes the Solo over the chords G#m E F# E, after which it's pretty much plain sailing. Lyrics/Chords: B C#m Something has come between us G#m F# E I can see right through the disguise B C#m Yesterday I would have believed you G# F# E tomorrow I know what I'll find G#m F# You're a worn out bible, a falling idol G#m F# a picture, a postcard lost somewhere G#m F# E The truth is sleazy, never easy to sell C#m I've been scratching tooth and nail B E to be released, and I G#m E I fall back every time B E You want me around G#m C#m E I crawl back every time you want me to F# B when anyone else would do B C#m Nothing is what it seems now G#m F# E your cheap book of answers ran out B C#m With your very best, perfect ego G#m F# E there's never a reason to doubt B C#m You told me your life story G#m F# E and I really should have been impressed B C#m but in the space between the lines G#m F# E I filled in the rest C#m B Well I should have second guessed, and I G#m E I fall back every time B E You want me around G#m E I crawl back every time you want me G#m E F# E G#m Some things possess you E Some things obsess you F# and some things just never E B turn out ri-hi-hiiiiiiiiiii-iiight E G#m E B never turn out right E G#m E B E never turn out right G#m E I fall back every time B E You want me around G#m C#m E I crawl back every time you want me to F# B C#m when anyone else would do E To you F# B anyone else would do Transcribed by Alex Carter 2001. alex@shandy3000.fsnet.co.uk
