James - Make It Alright Taken from the single Getting Away With It (All Messed Up) Written and performed by James Main Riff: e------------------------------------------------------- B------------------------------------------------------- G------------------------------------------------------- D------------------------------------------------------- A------------------------------------------------------- E--5b(7)r--3--0----------------------------------------- Alternative Main Riff: e------------------------------------------------------- B------------------------------------------------------- G------------------------------------------------------- D------------------------------------------------------- A-------------3----------------------------------------- E--5b(7)r--3-------------------------------------------- Another Riff: e------------------------------------------------------- B------------------------------------------------------- G------------------------------------------------------- D------------------------------------------------------- A--3h5p3------------------------------------------------ E------------------------------------------------------- Ending Riff: e--15-15-15h17p15--------------------------------------- B------------------------------------------------------- G------------------------------------------------------- D------------------------------------------------------- A------------------------------------------------------- E------------------------------------------------------- Song Structure: This song is a really simple verse/chorus song with a nice riff and only two chords. The Main Riff is that great low pitched riff that occurs throughout the verses. Once or twice though the Alternative Main Riff is played instead. Also occuring during the verses is Another Riff which is essentially just "background ambience." Towards the end of the song a lot of guitar noise is made, the only decipherable riff being the Ending Riff. To recreate some of that noise is easy: simply play the chords C or F (or parts of them) high up the neck past the twelfth. Then just strum like mad!. An acoustic guitar crops up at various points throughout the song, playing what equates to the chords C and F but not strummed, more like the individual notes are picked. Just listen to the song and you'll know what I mean. Lyrics/Chords: C F You're so thin C F What you've been eating C It's alive F It's alive C It's within You're so thin Something's eaten it's way in You can't hide It's alive I, I'll make you alright (x4) Change your skin Who you gonna be next time? Which disguise Which disguise do you recognise? Think you know just who you are Well I got news for you Baby, you don't exist So many faces queuing up in the sight of you Maybe it's stick or twist All of this confusion can be put on the fire Invitations out for the wake Heard enough for decent people running this world Baby, everything is fake Transcribed by Alex Carter 2001. alex@shandy3000.fsnet.co.uk
