Update 13.10.05

As promised, the mp3 section now includes two tracks from the Kulas four-track sampler.  Instamatic Camera and Starland are now available and the other two tracks will be available in a couple of weeks time.

Update 9.9.05

Michael Kulas has announced his first live show of the year at Toronto's Rivoli Club on Friday October 7. 

He will be supported by Katie Griffin. Tickets are C$7.  Michael will be debuting new material at this show.

Michael has recently been in the UK talking to record companies about his forthcoming album which he is in the process of writing and recording. 

In a couple of weeks time, oneofthethree will exclusively have some tracks from that album available for download.

Michael has spent the last year working on the new album plus has contributed to the soundtrack of the Park Bench film The Death Of Alice Blue including a track entitled You Only Come Out At Night.  He's now also working on the soundtrack for a new Japanese anime-style TV series called Team Galaxy.

Kulas has announced the following live dates for the first few months of 2004 :

January 24 - Toronto C'Est What (third annual Jeff Buckley tribute)

February 20 - Toronto Rivoli

March 11 - Ottawa Zaphod's

March 25 - Toronto Reverb

April 28 - Toronto Healy's

Michael will also be performing on Mike Bullard's TV show Feb 16th as part of Katie Griffin's band.

Update 24.10.03

Kulas has re-released Another Small Machine in Canada.  Talks are still ongoing about a European release in the near future and at the moment the release is planned for 17 countries through United One Records.   Warrior, from Katie Griffin's Kulas-produced debut album Kiss Me Chaos, with Kulas playing all the instruments, has been featuring in the opening titles of American TV movie "Hollywood Wives" this week.

He has also announced a new show at Toronto's Tequila Lounge on November 27th.

Kulas played a night of shows at Toronto's El Mocombo club last Thursday 23 August.  He played guitar with Katie Griffin and Robbie Roth's bands then performed his own solo set featuring Anyone Else, Star Land, Instamatic Camera, Glasgow Rain, Having and Losing It All (solo acoustic), Beautiful Day, Pavement, All The Rage, Beginning of the End and Hallelujah (solo acoustic)

Kulas has renamed his new band The Vinyl Dolls.  It appears the Dead City Radio monicker was already taken.  He will continue to perform under the Kulas name until the forthcoming album is ready for release.

Kulas will be performing 2 acoustic songs as part of a night of George Harrison music to raise money for The Princess Margaret Hospital and Cancer research in Toronto at the Rivoli, Friday August 8th.

Kulas' second album Another Small Machine is going to be released by Berlin's United One Records and distributed in 15 countries including the UK in September

He will also be playing in Katie Griffin's band at C'est What in Toronto on Wednesday, July 23rd and also doing a few tracks of his own.  He will then be playing in Robbie Roth's band at The Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto on Thursday, July 31st

He will then be playing a KULAS show at The Elmocambo (again in Toronto) on August 23rd.

He has also written a few original songs for director Park Bench's new film "The Death Of Alice Blue" which will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival  in September.  The songs are "Sweet Lips", "You Only Come Out At Night" and "Gothdance".

Kulas is performing at a Songwriters Series at the Free Times Cafe Club on College Street in Toronto this Friday, June 20.  Doors open at 8pm and these events usually sell out pretty quickly.  Admission is six Canadian dollars.

Kulas played a show at the Rivoli Club in Toronto on May 16 as part of the launch evening for the Katie Griffin CD produced by Kulas.  The setlist was Anyone Else, Star Land, Instamatic Camera, Glasgow Rain, Having and Losing It All (solo acoustic), Shine (solo acoustic), Beautiful Day, Pavement, All The Rage, There's Nothing Wrong, Beginning of the End, Sit Down.  For a full review, click here.

After the success of their nation-wide t.v. appearance on the Mike Bullard Show performing the Echo and The Bunnymen song "Killing Moon", Kulas and Katie Griffin have been asked back tonight (Friday, live to air 7:00 p.m. and again at midnight on CTV) to perform the song with Echo and The Bunnyman frontman Ian McCulloch who will also be performing his new single with his band to promote his upcoming Toronto show.

He will also be playing a full live set at Toronto's Rivoli on Friday May 16 as part of the launch night for Katie Griffin's album "Kiss Me Chaos" which was produced by Kulas.

He is also continuing writing and recording with what will be a new band release this year.  The band is called Dead City Radio.  The album titled "American Cheerleader" will include the songs Glasgow Rain, Pavement and Starland as well as the new songs Instamatic Camera, Ghost, Something About You, Dead Rock Star, The Man That Nobody Wanted, Day and Night, Night and Day and Twenty Two.

Update 12.1.03

Kulas has announced that he is to play again at this year's For The Love Of Jeff Buckley tribute show on January 25 at Toronto's Rivoli Club. He will also be opening for two well-known Canadian bands 54-40 and The Pursuit of Happiness at the 4,000-capacity Hershey Centre Arena on Saturday February 22.

He has also completed the recording session for the Katie Griffin album and will be involved in the mixing process over the next few weeks before recommencing sessions for his own forthcoming album.
