The live double CD Getting Away With It, due for release on June 10, will feature all of the tracks recorded at the Manchester Arena last December, including I Know What I'm Here For and Hymn From A Village which are absent from the DVD.
Kulas played a triumphant set at Toronto's Clintons last night including an impromptu run through Sit Down - the full tracklisting was Glasgow Rain, Anyone Else, Beautiful Day Part Two, She's All The Rage, The Only One, Sleep, Pavement, Thanks To Fast Eddie / Sit Down, Burning Down Hollywood, Beginning Of The End, Hallellujah (solo electric), Clever Mess (solo acoustic), Starland, Lust For Love

Gavan Whelan has produced the 12-track debut album for the up-and-coming North West band Alive. The as-yet-untitled album is scheduled for a September 23 release on Effin' Records.

Kulas has announced a solo acoustic show next Tuesday, March 23, as part of a Musicians Benefit for Musicians evening at Toronto's Rivoli Club.
As part of David Thomas and the Two Pale Boys, Andy Diagram is providing musical backing to a play called Shockheaded Peter at the Albany Theatre in London. Performances are at 8pm om Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 6.30pm and 10pm on Thursday and there are matinee performances at 3pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sundays. Ticket prices range from £7.50 to £32.50. The play runs until June 15th and the tickets can be booked direct from the theatre on 0207 369 1730.
www.play.com have advertised the DVD Getting Away With It Live for £14.99 delivered to the UK, the cheapest price online to date. Beware though you may not get the DVD on the release date as they ship from Jersey and it takes 3-7 days from them getting stock in.

James have unveiled the cover for the DVD and VHS - Getting Away With It Live- due for release on June 10th. The DVD features tracks recorded at last December's Manchester Arena show, two documentaries - Individual Stories featuring the band's stories of how they came into James and Single Piece featuring the band's unique songwriting methods. It also includes the Laid, Say Something and She's A Star promo videos and other surprises are promised. One Of The Three has set up a special section devoted to the DVD - click here to view |
Tim has co-written a track called Ghosts, with Jaime Catto of Faithless and Duncan Bridgeman for their 1 Giant Leap project - www.1giantleap.com - which aims to "capture and share with others, the unique fusion of sound, image and spoken word from some of the world's most influential artists and musicians"
The track is performed by Eddie Reader, ex of Fairground Attraction. To listen to the track in Windows Media Player, click on this link.
The album entitled also features contributions from Michael Stipe, Robbie Williams, Grant Lee Buffalo, Baaba Maal, Michael Franti and many more artists from around the world. It was released in Europe in February and there will be an accompanying DVD in May. The album can be bought from the website. Tim also makes an appearance in the film.
Rumours still abound that Tim has distributed a demo cd that is very different to James to record companies in the hope of securing a deal. More as and when news is available.

According to the DVD website www.r2-dvd.org, Warner Music will be releasing the long-awaited James live DVD on June 10th entitled "James Getting Away With It.... Live" The site contains the following press release:
"Warner Music Vision have announced "JAMES Getting Away with It... Live" for release on the 10th of June priced at £19.99.This is James' homecoming gig recorded at the Manchester Arena on 7th December 2001 and marked not only frontman Tim Booth's but also James' last ever live performance ending a 19 year association and making it a must see event for fans. The disk features both a DD 5.1 sound track and a L-PCM stereo soundtrack. The picture uses various ratios. Extras will be:
