Update 31.7.01
Band-Mad, the new James merchandising company has increased its range of James merchandise, including some shirts on special offer at £5 and a jacket at £15, along with all the new Pleased To Meet You merchandise.
James On Line, Mercury's James site has a new section with an eight minute video of studio footage of the recording of the Pleased To Meet You album, including an exclusive version of English Beefcake.

Pleased To Meet You slumped to number 47 in the album charts in its third week of release.
Strange Dancing - The Early Years, the Warner compilation of early James material, is now due for release on August 20. Regular readers will no doubt take this with a pinch of salt and see it when they believe it!
Rumour has it that Orbital have been approached to remix Falling Down for a potential future release.

Strange Dancing appears to have been deleted from the catalogue at HMV which would suggest the release has been delayed or cancelled. No word from Warners on this (turn the clock back fourteen years or so and it's a case of deja vu)

James on line merchandise is now on sale at www.bandmad.com. Only new t-shirts debuted at the recent shows (don't get too excited, they're not that great or cheap) are available at present.

James have parted company with Blue Grape, their merchandising company, and are presently in negotiation with an as yet unnamed company to take over the manufacture and sale of James merchandise.
Pleased To Meet You dropped out of the Top 20 album chart this week, plummeting to Number 29. Getting Away With It (All Messed Up) dropped to number 69 in the singles charts

Getting Away With It (All Messed Up) dropped to number 48 in the UK single charts last week after entering at 22 the week before despite the band's appearance on Top of the Pops.

According to Tim at Sunday's Liverpool show, Falling Down will be the next single from the album Pleased To Meet You.

Pleased To Meet You reached a disappointing number 11 in the album charts.
Virgin Megastores in the UK are offering a free poster with all purchases of Pleased To Meet You whilst stocks last. V Shop / Our Price are offering Laid for £4.99 with CD purchases of the album.
James are to play the Electron Festival in Athens, Greece on September 21.

All international versions are 11 track albums which exclude the tracks Gaudi and What Is It Good For? Buyers outside the UK can purchase the album online at Audiostreet and get the full UK version with the two missing tracks and bonus CD material.
The single Getting Away With It (All Messed Up) was released on June 25th and reached number 22 in the Top 40, after peaking in the midweek charts. The single's showing was enough to merit an appearance on Top of the Pops on Friday 6 July.
