JAMES : NEWS ARCHIVE JUNE 2005
Update 18.6.05
Tim performed 2 tracks at tonight's Meltdown show at London's Royal Festival Hall. He performed Lullaby, a sign about child abuse to tie in with the theme of the evening, and Sit Down for the first time since leaving James. Performing with him for the first time since Tim left James was Saul Davies on violin. He was also accompanied by Lisa Lindley-Jones from The Individuals and members of John Cale's band. The songs were slightly marred by one member of the audience singing incorrect lyrics over wrong parts of the song but the audience reception was excellent considering Tim had only been confirmed this week so would have had very little Tim/James crowd there.
Update 14.6.05
Tim is playing a couple of songs this Saturday at the Songs Of Innocence - Protest Songs and Lullabies performance at London's Royal Festival Hall as part of the Meltdown Festival. Also appearing are Patti Smith, Kristin Hersh, Beth Orton, Tori Amos, Marianne Faithful amongst others. The event is unfortunately sold out and Tim's appearance has only just been confirmed. There may be returns on the day according to the Royal Festival Hall website.

HMV.co.uk are now listing the Seven live DVD for release on June 20. It's still labelled as NTSC though which would be incompatible with some UK players and TVs. Price is £12.99 Meanwhile, Play.com are listing the DVD with the cover picture on the left for £9.99 with a release date of June 27. There appears to be inconsistencies still as it's an NTSC DVD (ie US TV system), yet Region 2 disc (ie won't play in North America). Additional features are the Born Of Frustration, Sound, Seven, Come Home and Sit Down (Remix) videos. Sadly it doesn't appear the extra tracks broadcast on Granada TV - Lose Control (acoustic) or Johnny Yen will appear on the release. |
