LIKE a long lost friend, Tim Booth wanders back into our lives and makes his presence felt instantly. The former James frontman's return is unexpected but welcome, and he rewards his patient fans with this splendid solo album, Bone. It's three years since James went their separate ways and in that time Tim has busied himself with acting, writing screenplays and DJing. All this creativity has clearly inspired him to produce a debut album which positively bursts with vigour and enthusiasm. Kick- starting the album in rocky spirits with Wave Hello, Bone takes the listener through a myriad of musical styles from slinky disco beats in the title track, to the epic feel of Down To The Sea, to He Mamma's soft rock beats.
