Don't let the disappointing chart position that Pleased to Meet You achieved put you off the latest excellent album from James. The first single, Getting Away With It (All Messed Up) received virtually no national airplay, and neither did any of the other tracks from the album, so it was no wonder that Pleased to Meet You performed poorly.

Teaming up once again with producer and long-time collaborator Brian Eno, the magnificent seven have created an album with a number of standout tracks, with a range of idea and sounds used throughout. Best on Pleased to Meet You are Senorita, Falling Down, Gaudi and the excellent Fine, which is more dance-orientated than anything that Booth and Co. have done before.

If you are a fan of the band, get this album in as it was the last record on James' current record deal with Mercury, and who knows how long it will be until the next one?

Never dated, ever fresh. Definitely more refreshing than "Millionaires". Pleased To Meet You is going to be a huge James "classic". When I read some of the reviews here, I tried not to expect too much of it, as usually when you expect a great sounding WHOLE album, you are disappointed. This surpasses just about all James other work (in my opinion). There are similarities to older material, but they are professionally brought into the future by all concerned in the production of this masterpiece. Bet these songs will sound terrific live. James play some wicked live music. I can't wait to hear the inevitable live tracks maybe added to single releases. Or better still, a live version of P.T.M.Y. Just so pleased I bought it!
