WAH WAH ALBUM REVIEWS 2![]()

I bought this album as I had everything else ever produced by James, and the concept of a near-improvised album sounded quite appealing. HOWEVER, it's not really very listenable; some tracks are less than a minute long, and consist of a few noises and Mr Booth humming in the background. A few choice tracks stand out as being potential "proper" album material (indeed one track - Tomorrow - did make it onto the album Whiplash), but these account for about 10% of the entire album, and in my opinion are insufficient justification for buying this.

This CD is a collection of studio cuts from when James started working with Brian Eno, which led them into more mainstream success than had been previously granted with albums such as "Gold Mother".
With a minimum of mixing, editing or production, the CD constists of several sessions worth of work. Not a conventional album by any means, but a broad brush of James' styles.
Raw edges aplenty, but listen to it and it'll grow on you massively.

Why on earth did they make so few of this album? Its one of the most revealing and insightful recordings ever. Raw and spontaneous, James hit the spot once again when they came up with this.
