American film composer whose works included the Twin Peaks soundtrack. Collaborated with Tim on the Booth and the Bad Angel album released in 1986.
THE BAND OF HOLY JOY
James support band on the triumphant 1989 Come Home tour, The Band Of Holy Joy were a fellow Rough Trade band, described by Tim as the best support band James have ever had.

Drummer of Manchester band Easterhouse who stood in as the band's drummer at a number of shows in late 1988 after Gavan's dismissal from the band
GEOFF BUCKLEY
James longstanding lighting man dating back to the eighties. Recognised as one of the best in his field, the Come Home live video is testament to his work.
BERNARD BUTLER
Ex-Suede guitarist who helped to produce and played on several of the Booth and the Bad Angel tracks. He wanted Tim to leave James in 1996 and form a band with him, but Tim declined. He has since released two solo albums.
DAVE CAVANAGH
A well-known music journalist, he was commissioned to write an official biography on James in 1995 and started work on it before the publishing deal fell through. His interviews provide some of the detail in the Folklore biography.
CHANGE OF SCENERY

COLIN COOK
Bank manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland in St Ann's Square in Manchester. He lent the band £12,000 in 1988 to record and release the One Man Clapping live album after being taken to a show by the band
VINNIE CORRIGAN
Saxophone player on Gold Mother. He brought Andy Diagram along with him to the sessions and Andy was invited to join James as a result.

AVRIL DOWNEY
Tim's clairvoyant who was located in the Corn Exchange in Manchester until the 1996 IRA bomb before being relocated to the Coliseum shopping arcade. She has given Tim advice that proved true with the hiring of Dave and working with Angelo Badalamenti.
MARKUS DRAVS
Brian Eno's assistant during the Wah Wah sessions, he was responsible for mixing half the Wah Wah album and ensuring control in the second studio the band were using in Real World, Bath.
ELISE
Mysteriously named violinist who appeared on an early demo tape, played a few early shows and then disappeared, never to be heard of again.
BRIAN ENO
Producer of the Laid and Wah Wah albums and involved in the production of Whiplash and Millionaires, Eno is not just a music producer although his CV boasts the likes of Bowie, U2 and Roxy Music. He lectures in science, has produced many ambient albums of his own and is a celebrated diarist, amongst many other things.
